The school vigorously promotes the strategy of "talents strengthening the school" and enables high-quality development. Recently, the president Shao Liangshan had a discussion with Dr. Qin Wei, the first high-level talent introduced to our school in full-time position, in the meeting room 107 of the Electromechanical Building in Binhai Campus. The director of the Party and Government Office Zhang Xiaoliang, the dean of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College Shi Jing, the deputy dean Kang Kai and some related teachers attended the discussion.

President Shao Liangshan extended a warm welcome to Dr. Qin Wei for joining Liaoning Institute of Technology. He expressed that in 2023, the school successfully passed the Undergraduate Teaching Assessment by the Ministry of Education, ushering in a new stage of high-quality development. Talent attraction and recruitment serve as an "accelerator" for promoting reform and development in the school's endeavors. Attracting talents to the institution is only the first step; it is crucial to develop talent nurturing policies guided by mechanisms, so that they can play a more significant role in the school's growth and the local economic construction in the long run. Dr. Qin boasts rich experiences in both study and work, with outstanding research achievements in fields such as intelligent manufacturing and assembly technology. President Shao hoped that Dr. Qin would bring new vitality to the school in areas like talent cultivation, program development, scientific research, industry-university collaboration, team building, and results incubation. He encouraged Dr. Qin to focus on academic self-cultivation, pursue inner knowledge and outer wisdom, set benchmarks, and lead trends.

Dr. Qin Wei, the newly introduced high-level talent, expressed his gratitude during his remarks. He thanked the school for its profound respect for talent and the encouragement from President Shao Liangshan. He chose to join Liaoning Institute of Technology because of its broad stage and immense potential today. The emphasis on talent was evident from the school leadership down to the frontline staff. The excellent school ethos, teaching style, and learning atmosphere left a deep impression on him. In such an environment, he vowed to cherish the time, work diligently, and contribute his expertise to the school's development, striving to write a new chapter in teaching, education, and technological innovation.

Research Fields and Achievements:

Qin Wei primarily focuses on research and production work in areas such as aircraft intelligent manufacturing and assembly, specialized processing for surgical medical instruments, ultrasonic vibration machining and strengthening for difficult-to-machine materials,and composite material structure forming technologies. He has completed seven projects including National Natural Science Foundation's Young Fund, General Project, and Key/Significant Projects as principal investigator or participant. As a key contributor, he has taken part in multiple national defense pre-research projects and major model breakthrough programs, with his research outcomes serving as essential technical means in batch production for models.

He has published over 20 papers in recent years and holds five patents for inventions. He is a primary co-author of the "12th Five-Year Plan" key textbook "Micro-Nano Manufacturing Technology and Applications," and has contributed to "The Encyclopedia of China: Basics of Mechanical Manufacturing Technology," writing the Special Processing section, as well as the "10,000 Scientific Challenges - Manufacturing Science Volume."

In 2019, Qin Wei was one of the main recipients of the First Prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award (Invention Category).
